Lego has unveiled a new line of Minecraft Movie sets, offering a glimpse into the film's mob roster ahead of its Jack Black-led theatrical release.
Games Radar reports that the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack are the first two sets announced. These will complement the existing Minecraft Lego range, but notably include minifigures of Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's Garbage Man.
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) hints at a gladiatorial battle scene. Momoa's character is depicted fighting a zombie riding a giant chicken—the scale remains ambiguous, but the chicken-zombie combo is significantly taller than the Garbage Man. The set also includes Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a fighting ring, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) confirms the Nether's Ghast will feature, showcasing a large-scale battle in a typical overworld village. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before The Minecraft Movie hits theaters on April 4th.
The film's September reveal sparked immediate fan backlash due to the perceived contrast between the live-action characters and the CGI-animated world. One fan even recreated the trailer in a fully animated style.
However, the director and producer, speaking to IGN in November, acknowledged this criticism, confidently stating they were "ready for everything."
