Mother Nature: EcoDash is a new endless runner game on Android with a powerful message. This game, developed by the UK-based immersive arts organization BOM (Birmingham Open Media), tackles the urgent issue of pollution head-on. Uniquely, it’s a collaborative effort between BOM and a group of girls aged 11-18 from the youth project Powered by CAN, whose input shaped the game's art style and mechanics.
What Makes Mother Nature: EcoDash Stand Out?
Players take on the role of Mother Nature, a Black female scientist, tasked with cleaning up a polluted city and rescuing endangered animals from the clutches of Smog, a villain determined to worsen the environmental crisis. Gameplay involves running, jumping, collecting air purifiers to keep the smog meter low, and avoiding being engulfed by toxic clouds.
Beyond the core endless runner mechanics, EcoDash incorporates rescue missions. Throughout the city levels, players encounter endangered animals in need of help. Successfully reaching the rainforest allows for their safe release back into their natural habitat.
BOM's vision for the game was clear: to present complex issues like climate change and air pollution in a fun and engaging way. The game features a variety of power-ups, shields, and bonus items to aid players on their mission.
Mother Nature: EcoDash offers a simple yet impactful gaming experience with a meaningful message. Download it now from the Google Play Store!
