We Are Muesli Announces a New Narrative Game In Their Shoes for Mobile

Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled a new narrative game titled In Their Shoes, set for a 2026 release on mobile and PC. The game has already been nominated for the independent and arthouse game awards at A MAZE. 2025 in Berlin.

Set in contemporary Milan—a city brimming with contrasts—the game invites you to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. You’ll experience 49 short, interactive stories, each called a Moment, offering intimate glimpses into their daily routines.

Each Moment reveals a character’s hesitations, habits, and fleeting choices. Some unfold slowly, inviting you to linger in their thoughts. Others demand quick reactions, echoing real-life urgency.

The storytelling in In Their Shoes is deliberately fragmented, setting it apart from other titles in the genre. As you piece together these scattered moments, you’ll uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character. It’s pure slice-of-life storytelling.

We Are Muesli has long been dedicated to merging art and narrative. Based in Milan, Italy, they’ve been crafting thought-provoking and educational games since 2013.

Their portfolio includes experimental visual novels like CAVE! CAVE! DEUS VIDET. and Venti Mesi, artistic co-op experiences like Siheyuan, and narrative escape rooms such as Ludmilla and Ventiquattro Elle.
