Disney Dreamlight Valley's Storybook Vale expansion introduces a variety of new ingredients, some more readily available than others. Mussels, a type of shellfish described as surprisingly good water filters, can be particularly challenging to locate. Unlike some other shellfish, Mussels only appear in specific Storybook Vale biomes, and their spawn locations can be unpredictable.
Finding Mussels in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Mussels are found on the ground throughout Mythopia, specifically within these areas:
- The Elysian Fields
- The Fiery Plains
- The Statue's Shadow
- Mount Olympus
While some players report easily finding Mussels in these locations, others experience less frequent spawns. One potential Mussel hotspot is near trial areas, such as the first trial in the Elysian Fields (Hades' unlock). A cluster of Mussels can also be found behind a hidden bush in the Elysian Fields during Hades' "A Moth to a Flame" quest; uncovering this area may increase Mussel spawns elsewhere in Mythopia.
Mussel Uses in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Mussels aren't used in crafting, unlike some other seafood. However, they are key ingredients in these Storybook Vale recipes:
- Garlic Steam Mussels
- Mussel Risotto
- Steamed Mussels
Alternatively, consuming a Mussel restores 150 energy, or you can sell them for 75 Gold Star Coins at Goofy's Stalls.
