Orna: The GPS RPG launches a major event with NatureBlight, starting May 30th, 2025, and running until June 14th. This new chapter in Terra’s Legacy challenges players to confront pressing environmental issues.
NatureBlight Introduces the Great Murk Threat in Orna: The GPS RPG
Northern Forge Studios emphasizes planetary concerns, building on themes from past updates. NatureBlight integrates real-world conservation issues into Orna: The GPS RPG’s immersive gameplay.
This marks the studio’s second participation in the Green Game Jam, backed by the Playing for the Planet Alliance. Orna blends fantasy with real-world location data, and this event transports players to regions facing significant ecological challenges.
Throughout the event, players will visit seven real-world-inspired locations in Orna’s universe. Each destination features a unique animal guardian representing its local ecosystem.
Travel to Prince Edward County, Canada, to encounter the Beaver or explore Oceania’s vibrant Coral Reefs. Trek through Uganda’s misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with the Mountain Gorilla or discover ancient relics like the Bone Mammoth in Dunkerque, France.
Other guardians include the Giant Tortoise in Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands, the Giant Panda in Chengdu, China, and the Macaroni Penguin in the Antarctic Peninsula. Players can bond with these Animal Guardians, keeping them as companions post-event.
What is the Great Murk?
As players navigate each region, they’ll uncover the destructive impact of the alien Terran civilization on their environment, including deforestation, pollution, and extinction. The Great Murk, a recurring blight, threatens the world, and players must work to repel it.
Complementing the event’s theme, a NatureBlight pack is available via PlanetPlay in Orna: The GPS RPG, offering origin town cosmetics, character sprites, and consumable boosters. Download the game on the Google Play Store.
