"Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer Unveils Superman Ties and New Characters"

Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, intensifying the ties to the Superman universe by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene.

The trailer opens with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl. They are seen interviewing John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, for a potential spot on a superhero team. The interview takes a sour turn, leaving Peacemaker visibly disheartened as he exits the building.

These appearances offer a fresh glimpse into the supporting characters who will also feature in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11. This marks the third installment in the newly revamped DCU, which began with the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.

Under the guidance of James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran, the new DCU distances itself from the criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements from the old universe will persist, with Peacemaker serving as a prime example. While Season 1 was part of the now-defunct DCEU, Season 2 will fully integrate into the new DCU.

Gunn has emphasized that **"many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes,"** though the specifics of what will transition from the DCEU to the DCU are yet to be fully disclosed. He has confirmed the return of the entire **Team Peacemaker** with their original cast, including John Cena reprising his role as Peacemaker, alongside Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.

Additionally, Gunn has revealed that Peacemaker Season 2 will take place after the events of Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's storyline directly impacting Peacemaker's journey.
