Summary
- Pirate Software was expelled from the OnlyFangs guild following Hardcore deaths during a botched Dire Maul North run.
- Pirate Software's refusal to accept responsibility for the incident led to his removal by Guild Master Sodapoppin.
Pirate Software has been removed from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, after a disastrous run in Dire Maul North. This dungeon, recently introduced to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has already claimed several Hardcore lives within OnlyFangs.
Prior to Blizzard's official launch of Hardcore servers in August 2023, players had been self-imposing zero-death challenges. The popularity of these servers waned until the introduction of Anniversary servers in November 2024, which revitalized World of Warcraft Classic and left the original Classic servers sparsely populated. Since the Anniversary servers' inception, numerous Hardcore players have perished, yet some have successfully reached level 60 under these stringent conditions. Among the recent casualties are Sara and Snupy, prompting Guild Master Sodapoppin to ban the responsible player, Pirate Software, from OnlyFangs.
Multiple social media posts and a Discord statement from Sodapoppin confirmed Pirate Software's expulsion. The statement revealed that a majority of guild members felt uneasy continuing to play with Pirate Software after two members died during the Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group prematurely engaged a boss before clearing a pack of Gordok ogres. Upon a member's call to retreat and reset the enemies, Pirate Software left the group during their escape. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under standard OnlyFangs rules, Pirate Software's refusal to acknowledge his role in Sara and Snupy's deaths led to his removal. A video of the event, containing strong language, is available for viewing.
Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From the World of Warcraft Guild OnlyFangs
The main issue was Pirate Software's refusal to accept responsibility for the Hardcore deaths due to ineffective use of crowd control. During a post-run analysis, popular Twitch streamer Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have used Blizzard rank 1 to slow the enemies without exhausting his mana. Additionally, fellow OnlyFangs member Mizkif mentioned that Pirate Software was also expelled for making threats to other streamers after the Dire Maul incident. Pirate Software addressed his removal on Twitter, claiming the situation was mishandled.
Since the OnlyFangs guild was reformed on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, several members have faced expulsion. As Blizzard continues to update World of Warcraft Classic with patches true to the original Vanilla version, more OnlyFangs members might fall in newly added dungeons and raids, potentially leading some to form their own groups.
