Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go Rings in 2025 with a New Year's Event and Exciting January Plans!

As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. But the fun doesn't stop there!

Kicking off January 1st and running throughout the month, the Eggs-pedition Access event offers a wealth of benefits for just $4.99. This paid event significantly enhances the gameplay experience, boosting your Pokémon-catching potential until January 31st. Enjoy increased Gift storage (up to 40 Gifts!), daily Gift opening limits (up to 50!), and a generous supply from PokéStops (150 Gifts!).

Here's a sneak peek at the festivities:

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this time, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.

Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats—all with a boosted Shiny rate. Event bonuses include a generous 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and spectacular celebratory fireworks.

Raids also get a festive makeover: Tier One features a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while Tier Three brings party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet, both with increased Shiny chances. Don't forget to check Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases for more themed encounters.

Ready to celebrate? Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's 2025 festivities! And for more Pokémon news, check out our coverage of Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria's latest update.
