Portal Games Digital has released a digital version of the popular board game, Imperial Miners, for Android. This card game focuses on strategic mine building, adding to their existing Android portfolio which includes Neuroshima Convoy, Imperial Settlers: Roll & Write, and Tides of Time.
Designed by Tim Armstrong (known for Arcana Rising and Orbis) and illustrated by Hanna Kuik (Batman: Everybody Lies and Dune: House Secrets), Imperial Miners puts you in charge of an underground excavation. Your goal? Craft the most efficient mine by strategically playing cards and building a subterranean empire. Starting at the surface, you'll dig deeper, collecting Crystals and Carts to earn Victory Points.
The game’s clever card system activates each card's effect and triggers those above it. With six unique factions offering diverse combinations, strategic depth is ensured. But mine development isn't solely about card placement; 10 rounds of gameplay, each featuring a new Event (some beneficial, others disruptive), keep things exciting.
Further enhancing replayability, three of six randomly selected Progress boards offer unique strategic focuses each game. This ensures no two playthroughs are identical.
Imperial Miners offers a compelling engine-building experience, faithfully recreating the charm of the original board game. Priced at $4.99 on the Google Play Store, it's a worthwhile addition to any digital board game collection.
