Ananta: NetEase's Open-World RPG Unveiled
NetEase Games and Naked Rain have officially revealed the title of their enigmatic Project Mugen: Ananta. A new PV and teaser trailer showcase gameplay and offer a clearer picture of this urban, open-world RPG.
The preview video highlights Nova City, a sprawling metropolis ripe for exploration. It features a diverse cast of characters battling a looming threat from beyond, as the forces of Chaos wreak havoc.
While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself, especially in its impressive movement mechanics. The trailer showcases fluid character movement, leaving open the question of whether traversal will be limited to instanced areas or allow for truly free-roaming exploration akin to Spider-Man games.

Dynamic Movement and Exploration
The PV's impressive movement sequences are a standout feature. The extent of explorable space, whether instanced or truly open, remains to be seen.
Ananta shares similarities with MiHoYo's Hoyoverse titles like Genshin Impact, but NetEase aims to carve its own niche in the 3D gacha RPG market. The game's success hinges on its ability to stand alone and potentially challenge the current genre leaders.
