The final day of the Six Invitational is always a highlight for Rainbow Six Siege fans, as Ubisoft traditionally unveils exciting new content. This year was no exception, with the introduction of Rauora, the latest attack operator hailing from New Zealand. Rauora brings unique tactical advantages to the game, and her innovative gear is set to shake up the meta.
Rauora's standout feature is the DOM launcher, a bulletproof shield designed for strategic deployment in doorways. While it can be destroyed by explosives, the DOM shield adds a new layer of strategy to the game. It includes a trigger mechanism that can be activated by shooting it, but the timing varies depending on which team fires the shot. Attackers can open the shield in just one second, while defenders face a three-second delay. This difference can be pivotal, especially in high-stakes situations like when the defuser has been planted.

In addition to the DOM launcher, Rauora introduces the Reaper MK2, a fully automatic pistol equipped with a red dot sight and an enlarged magazine, adding a new weapon option to the arsenal. For her primary weapon choices, players can select between the powerful M249 LMG or the precise 417 marksman rifle, allowing for diverse playstyles.
Fans eager to try out Rauora won't have to wait long. She will be available on the test servers next week, giving players a chance to experiment with her abilities before she's rolled out to the live version of the game, which will follow shortly after.
