Rumor: The First Specs Of The Nvidia RTX 5090 Have Leaked

Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090: A Deep Dive into Leaked Specs and Expected Performance

Nvidia is set to unveil its next-generation graphics card lineup, the RTX 50 series (codenamed Blackwell), at CES 2025. Leaks suggest the flagship RTX 5090 will be a powerhouse, boasting impressive specifications, but potentially at a premium price.

Key features anticipated for the RTX 5090 include:

  • Massive Memory: A substantial 32GB of GDDR7 video memory – double that of the expected RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti.
  • High Power Consumption: A significant 575W power draw, requiring a robust power supply.
  • Cutting-Edge Features: Leveraging Nvidia's Tensor Cores for AI processing, DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support.

These specifications were initially hinted at by Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner, showcasing their iChill X3 RTX 5090 – a triple-fan cooler occupying over three expansion slots. The packaging confirmed the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the hefty 575W power requirement. This represents a considerable jump from the RTX 4090's 450W TDP.

The RTX 50 series will utilize a 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be provided. However, this impressive power and memory come at a cost. Industry speculation points to an MSRP starting at $1999 or higher. Nvidia has yet to officially confirm pricing.

The full RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, will be revealed during Nvidia's CES keynote on January 6th, 2025. The launch will mark a significant step forward in graphics technology, pitting Nvidia against AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel's Battlemage GPUs. The consumer response to this new generation remains to be seen.
