Balatro, the indie roguelike developed by a single person, continues its phenomenal success story. Having already surprised players and critics with its critical acclaim last year, the game has now surpassed a staggering 5 million copies sold!

Just a month ago, developer LocalThunk celebrated reaching 3.5 million sales. This impressive jump of 1.5 million copies in approximately 40 days strongly suggests a significant boost from The Game Awards, a possibility hinted at by the developer.

Playstack CEO, Harvey Elliott, lauded this achievement as truly remarkable, expressing immense pride in both LocalThunk and Playstack's team.

Even nearly a year post-release, Balatro shows no signs of slowing down. The card-based roguelike continues to be updated with engaging collaborations and recently achieved a new peak concurrent player record on Steam. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its compelling gameplay and the dedication of its creator.
