As HBO's acclaimed series The White Lotus bids farewell, another gripping show, The Last of Us, steps into the spotlight with its eagerly awaited second season. Sony and HBO have officially greenlit The Last of Us for a third season, with production set to begin this summer. It's important to note, however, that this does not signal the development of a third game in the series. Naughty Dog's current focus remains on their upcoming project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

IGN's 10/10 review of The Last of Us Part 2 hailed it as a "masterpiece worthy of its predecessor," praising Ellie's central role and the evolution of Naughty Dog's storytelling since the original Uncharted on the PlayStation 3.

Both games have been remastered, with The Last of Us Part 2 recently released on PC. Naughty Dog has also announced a new "Complete" edition for both games, set for a physical release this summer. Additionally, Sony has launched a special edition DualSense controller to celebrate the series.

The Last of Us Season 2 Cast and Crew

Guiding The Last of Us Season 2 are the game's creator Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, known for Chernobyl, with Haley Gross, co-writer of The Last of Us Part 2, joining the writing team.
