HBO's highly anticipated The Last of Us Season 2 premieres this April! Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 13th, at 9pm ET/PT, when the seven-episode season debuts on HBO and streams on Max. To celebrate the upcoming premiere, HBO has released new character posters featuring Joel, Ellie, and Abby.
Picking up five years after the events of Season 1, Season 2 finds Joel and Ellie residing with Joel's brother, Tommy, in their Montana commune. This season adapts the events of The Last of Us Part II, so familiarizing yourself with the game's storyline is recommended.
Returning are Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, joined by several new cast members: Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Lamar Johnson as Frank, and Keivonn Woodard as Sam. Tati Gabrielle joins the cast as Nora, and will also star in Naughty Dog's upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The phenomenal success of The Last of Us Season 1, created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, garnered numerous Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and Primetime Emmy nominations (Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Outstanding Director, and Outstanding Writing). Building on this momentum, HBO's Francesca Orsi has hinted at a potential four-season run for the series, suggesting this season won't fully adapt the entire game.
