SEGA's latest financial report offers exciting news for Persona fans worldwide. The gacha spin-off, Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X), is being considered for release beyond its initial launch regions. The report states that the game's performance is meeting expectations and that expansion into Japan and globally is under consideration.
Currently in Open Beta in Select Asian Regions
Licensed by Atlus, Persona 5: The Phantom X initially soft-launched in China on April 12, 2024, followed by Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, and Taiwan on April 18. Published by Perfect World Games and developed by Black Wings Game Studio, the game is currently in open beta.
Players step into the shoes of a new silent protagonist, "Wonder," a high school student by day and Persona-wielding Phantom Thief by night. Joining Joker and a new character, YUI, Wonder's team works to combat societal injustices.
Wonder initially wields the Persona Janosik, inspired by Slovakian folklore and embodying a Robin Hood-esque archetype.
Maintaining the core elements of the Persona series—turn-based combat, social simulation, and dungeon crawling—P5X adds a gacha system for character acquisition.

SEGA's FY25 Forecast and Business Restructuring
SEGA announced a restructuring, creating a new "Gaming Business" segment encompassing online gaming, slot machine development and sales (SEGA SAMMY CREATION), and integrated resort operations (PARADISE SEGASAMMY). The company expects to expand its online gaming presence in North America, establishing it as a key business pillar.
SEGA forecasts increased sales and profits for FY2025, projecting 93 billion Yen (approximately 597 billion USD) in revenue for the Full Game segment—a 5.4% increase year-on-year. A new Sonic title is also anticipated for next year.
