The Sims will celebrate its 25th anniversary with lots of free items

Electronic Arts recently hosted a livestream event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise. The event showcased the exciting in-game gifts and events planned for The Sims 4 players.

The festivities have already commenced with a new update. This update includes bug fixes, a revamped main menu, and performance improvements. Several classic houses in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs have also received a makeover. These updated houses are available immediately for new game saves, and accessible via the library for existing saves.

The main anniversary celebration begins February 4th with an update delivering over 70 free items! Simultaneously, the "Blast from the Past" in-game event starts. Players can earn retro-themed items and a complete new set by completing simple challenges.

A new season, "Motherlode," will launch in The Sims 4 on February 6th. Further details about this season's content are yet to be revealed.
