Sonos Arc Soundbar Discontinued: Last Chance to Save $300

Author : Layla Update:May 05,2025

If you're in the market for a high-quality soundbar, now is a great time to snag a deal on one of Sonos' top-rated models. The Sonos Arc, previously the flagship soundbar from Sonos, is currently available at a significant discount. Both Amazon and Walmart are offering it for just $599, marking a $300 instant discount off the original $899 price. This is a rare opportunity, especially since the Arc has been discontinued and replaced by the newer Arc Ultra. It's sold out on Sonos' official site and likely won't return, except possibly in their Refurbished section.

The Arc was Sonos' flagship soundbar until the release of the Arc Ultra, which retails for $1,000 and hasn't seen any discounts since its launch. The Arc, a premium 45" soundbar, features eleven precisely engineered internal speakers, including three tweeters and eight midwoofers. It's also Dolby Atmos ready with two dedicated height channels. Pairing the Arc with other Sonos speakers and subs is straightforward, requiring no technical expertise—just follow the app's instructions. This ease of use is why Sonos is often recommended for those seeking excellent sound without the typical AV setup hassle. Additional features include an ambient light sensor, HDMI eARC, capacitive touch controls, WiFi, and a built-in microphone for voice commands.

While the Arc Ultra looks similar to the Arc and has mostly similar dimensions (1.5" wider, 0.4" shorter, and 0.4" shallower), its internal components have been significantly upgraded. The Arc Ultra contains fourteen speakers, including seven tweeters, six midwoofers, and a new Sound Motion four-motor dual-membrane woofer. This upgrade results in bigger, cleaner bass and improved dialogue clarity. Additionally, the Arc Ultra includes Bluetooth, a feature absent in the original Arc.

Sonos Arc Ultra Review by Nick Woodard

"With the Arc Ultra, Sonos has taken an industry-leading soundbar and made it even better in several key areas. It's an overall superior sounding bar with enhanced bass and a larger array of drivers that work together to immerse you in your favorite content. The addition of Bluetooth support and Android Trueplay compatibility further justifies its higher price point. Despite some minor critiques and ongoing issues with the Sonos app and headphones, the Arc Ultra stands as a testament to Sonos' commitment to producing top-tier wireless speakers."
