The iconic foursome of Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman are back, and South Park is gearing up for Season 27. This time, our beloved Colorado crew seems to be tackling the current state of affairs, albeit in their uniquely chaotic way.
The announcement trailer for the new season cleverly fooled fans into expecting a dramatic new series. With intense editing and suspenseful music, the trailer initially set an ominous tone, only to be hilariously interrupted by Randy and Shelley Marsh. In a classic South Park twist, Randy suggests Shelley might benefit from taking drugs, all while sitting in front of a Wicked movie poster.
South Park Season 27 is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. The trailer hints at several major and timely events, including multiple plane crashes, the toppling of the Statue of Liberty, a cameo from P. Diddy, and what appears to be another war with Canada. Longtime fans, or anyone familiar with the 1999 film "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut," might not be surprised by the latter.
This new season comes over two years after the conclusion of Season 26, with the show having released three specials in the interim: "South Park: Joining the Panderverse" and "South Park (Not Suitable For Children)" in 2023, followed by "South Park: The End of Obesity" in 2024.
As South Park marks its 25th anniversary since its debut on Comedy Central in 1997, fans can look forward to more of the sharp satire and irreverent humor that has made the series a cultural staple.
