Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially underway, with star Tom Holland sharing photos of himself in full costume riding atop a military tank.
Production on Holland’s fourth solo outing as the beloved web-slinger is currently taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, where a portion of the city is being used for exterior shots featuring the actor and heavy military hardware.
Following last week’s glimpse of Holland’s updated Spidey suit, the actor has now posted images of himself—wearing the suit and secured by a harness—perched on a large armored vehicle.
Holland shared the images via his Instagram account, captioning the post "Spider-Man Brand New Day 1." Starting production with such an eye-catching stunt is certainly memorable, and since the shoot is happening in public, fan-recorded video of the tank-top moment has already surfaced.
Viewer discretion is advised for the clip from TikTok user jamieg1510 below, as one bystander reacts to the action by exclaiming, “It’s f***ing Spider-Man!” Understandable.

Scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, Brand New Day marks the return of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after the emotionally charged ending of 2021’s No Way Home. In that film, Holland’s Peter Parker made the heartbreaking choice to have his love interest MJ (Zendaya, Holland’s real-life partner) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) forget his existence to keep them safe.
As a result, Brand New Day begins with something of a fresh start for the hero, introducing several new co-stars—though Zendaya and Batalon are expected to appear in smaller roles. Sadie Sink of Stranger Things will portray a major, yet-unrevealed character, while Jon Bernthal reprises his MCU role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.
A recent report also indicated that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Michael Mando’s Scorpion will appear in the film. Meanwhile, close-up shots of the armored vehicle—likely the same one seen in Holland’s photos—reveal a logo that could hint at the movie’s true villain.
Spider-Man and the Hulk are two of Marvel’s most popular characters not currently confirmed for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is also in production at London’s Pinewood Studios. Jon Bernthal, for his part, is still filming his Punisher TV special in New York. All three MCU projects are slated for release next year.
