Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two with a wave of fresh content! Get ready for new characters, a brand-new map, and exciting challenges. Plus, earn exclusive in-game rewards by watching the new episodes on Netflix!
Netflix's surprise holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a free-to-play battle royale experience – was a bold move. Now, with this Season Two update, they're cleverly incentivizing both subscribers and non-subscribers alike.
What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, experience a map inspired by the Season Two mini-game, Mingle. New playable avatars include Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos (not the Marvel villain!).
Geum-Ja and Thanos unlock via special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. And here's the kicker: watching Squid Game Season Two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th), completing Mingle mini-games to collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives! Complete Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th) – eliminate players with knives – to unlock him.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a significant step for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, coupled with rewards for Netflix subscribers who watch the show, is a smart strategy to boost both the game and the show's viewership.
