Developer SHIFT UP is fully engaged in creating the sequel to Stellar Blade, promising a broader universe and improved game mechanics. According to SHIFT UP's semi-annual report, Stellar Blade quickly became one of the company's most beloved intellectual properties, and they intend to build on that triumph.

Their Q2 2025 Business Performance Results and accompanying factsheet reveal record-breaking quarterly results, with a 72.4% year-over-year increase and a staggering 166.1% growth from the previous quarter. A key highlight is that Stellar Blade contributed to over half of the company's total revenue.

SHIFT UP affirmed, "Leveraging this success, we are actively expanding the Stellar Blade IP and are currently developing a sequel." While the studio had previously confirmed that Stellar Blade 2 is in the works alongside other titles, specific details remain under wraps.

Nevertheless, the recent semi-annual report offered a glimpse into the sequel's progress. SHIFT UP explained, "The sequel will preserve the original's intense action combat while broadening its narrative scope and refining gameplay to firmly establish it as a franchise IP. We are confident it will surpass the achievements of the first game."

Although the first game earned acclaim for its thrilling combat and extensive modding support, SHIFT UP CEO Hyung-tae Kim pledged to enhance the sequel's storytelling—an area they acknowledged was a weakness in the original.

Despite this, players widely regarded Stellar Blade as one of the standout releases in recent years, earning "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on PC at launch.
