Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exhilarating new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, significantly expanding the game's universe. This major update nearly doubles the content, introducing new worlds, enemies, and missions to explore and conquer.
If you're new to the scene, Stellar Mercenaries is an engaging vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter. Players undertake procedurally generated missions, customize their ships and weapons, striving to become the most feared mercenary across the solar system.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms the gas giant and its moons into thrilling battlegrounds. Ganymede presents a barren wasteland, Io is engulfed in volcanic debris, and Europa offers a frozen, treacherous landscape, while Jupiter itself is teeming with ferocious storms.
Two new factions join the fray: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws.
The expansion enriches the gameplay with 50 new missions, including hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort, and train defense missions, each with unique objectives.
Six new ships are introduced: the Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Complementing these are new weapons like the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
There Are New Hazards, Shields, and More
The update also introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, enhancing player defenses. New hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier add to the challenge. Some enemy mercenaries have evolved into tougher classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.
Additionally, the expansion enriches the auditory experience with 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system, offering even more ways to engage with the game.
