We may have gotten an early look at the title for The Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel, after an NBCUniversal press release seemed to let the news slip prematurely.
As noted across various online sources, NBCUniversal issued a press release outlining its Upfront Showcase lineup, which included a mention of Super Mario World among the upcoming Universal Pictures and Illumination films slated to eventually arrive on its streaming platform, Peacock.
Universal quickly revised the press release, removing any reference to Mario altogether.

It's important to note that the original NBCUniversal press release listed “Super Mario World, Shrek, and Minions." Shrek and Minions are understood to refer to Shrek 5 and Minions 3, which suggests NBCUniversal may not have listed the final movie title for the Mario sequel either—instead using a possible placeholder. In other words, the next Shrek film isn't simply titled Shrek, nor is the next Minions film just named Minions.
However, Super Mario World is a more distinct title compared to a generic Super Mario or Super Mario Bros., making it worth considering as potentially accurate. Using Super Mario World as the title for the next Mario movie would certainly be a logical choice.
