Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button
Functionality Will Be Revealed During the Direct
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for release in 2025, and with a Nintendo Direct scheduled for today, April 2nd, the anticipation is at an all-time high. Ahead of the Direct, Nintendo has already dropped some hints about the Switch 2 through their new smartphone app, Nintendo Today. This app, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players, has been listed on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store with promotional images that tease the Switch 2.
One of these images boldly states, "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics and more every day." Upon closer examination, the image showcases what appears to be the final design of the Nintendo Switch 2, complete with newly designed Joycons and the much-talked-about C button on the right Joycon.
Back in January, the initial teaser for the Switch 2 featured a mysterious black square button beneath the Home button, sparking speculation about its purpose—ranging from a new social feature to a sensor. However, the final design revealed through the Nintendo Today app confirms it as the C button. While its exact functionality remains a mystery, fans won't have to wait long, as it is expected to be fully unveiled during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
