"Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake: A Fresh Take on Classic Metroidvania"

Author : Ethan Update:Mar 28,2025

If you're a long-time mobile gamer, you might fondly remember the retro-styled Metroidvania, Tiny Dangerous Dungeons, which was released around 10 years ago. Well, get ready for a delightful surprise: Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake is on its way, set to launch on March 7th for both iOS and Android. If you're eager to dive back into this nostalgic gem, pre-registration is open now.

Back in 2015, when the original game hit the market, Harry Slater gave it a solid 4-star review, appreciating its fresh take on the classic Game Boy aesthetic that stirred warm, fuzzy feelings among fans. However, the remake is shaking things up a bit. The sepia tones of the original have been swapped for a more vibrant and colorful palette, maintaining an old-school charm but with a twist that's less reminiscent of the classic Game Boy.

A Whole New World

This shift to a more colorful look is a welcome change, in my opinion. It keeps the nostalgia alive while making the game visually more engaging. But the visual update is just the beginning. Developer Jussi Simpanen has enriched the experience with an entirely new soundtrack and enhanced physics, addressing some of the minor issues pointed out in the original review. Additionally, the game now boasts new content, with the titular dungeon expanded to twice its original size and five new bosses to challenge players. There are also hints of new secrets scattered throughout, though the developer is keeping those under wraps for now.

Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake is available for pre-order on the App Store and Google Play, ahead of its eagerly awaited March 7th release. Priced at $3.99 or its local equivalent, this premium experience promises to be a must-have for fans of the genre.
