Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, a captivating new roguelike card battler, has officially launched on Android devices worldwide. Created by Kazuma Kaneko, renowned for his visionary world-building and iconic demon designs in the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, this game marks a bold evolution in the roguelike genre. Developed by Japanese studio COLOPL, the project showcases Kaneko’s artistic direction since he joined the team in 2023.
At the heart of Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter lies its innovative Personal AI-driven system, crafted under the supervision of Kaneko himself. Dubbed the "Okami System," it utilizes a proprietary AI model named AI Kaneko to observe players' actions during dungeon crawls and generate personalized cards in real-time. This dynamic mechanic ensures each playthrough feels uniquely tailored to the player's style.
Set within the towering Hashira Complex in Tokyo’s bayside district, the game immerses players in a dystopian narrative where they must ascend the structure to confront Noriko Tomi, CEO of the company responsible for the building. Her plans involve using jujutsu traps hidden throughout the facility to overthrow the government, making her a key target for Tsukuyomi, an elite national defense unit.
