Mark your calendars for February 24, 2025, as Guns Undarkness will be showcasing its free demo during the Steam Next Fest. This eagerly anticipated game is a collaboration between Meguro and other industry talents, including Ghost in the Shell character artist Ilya Kuvshino and rapper Lotus Juice, known for his contributions to Persona 3. Meguro, who has been a staple at Atlus since 1995, composing for the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, has since ventured into indie game development while continuing his work with Atlus. Guns Undarkness, initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021, successfully met its Kickstarter goals in 2022 and is slated for early access later this year.

Set in the year 2045, Guns Undarkness draws inspiration from iconic titles like Metal Gear Solid and Persona, offering a gripping narrative where you play as a member of a private military company. Your mission? To undertake challenging assignments and unravel the mysteries that threaten humanity's existence. The game splits its focus between stealth and battle sections. In stealth mode, players must navigate environments undetected, gaining the upper hand in turn-based combat by initiating attacks from concealment. The demo, which will be available at Steam Next Fest, offers around 20 minutes of gameplay, including tutorials on controls, the battle system, and early game strategies.

Guns Undarkness is poised for an Early Access release in Spring 2025, promising approximately 10 hours of gameplay on PC. While an exact release date has yet to be announced, the anticipation for this tactical JRPG is palpable among gaming enthusiasts.
