World of Warcraft has introduced new in-game rewards for fans who opt for a six-month subscription: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for modern WoW and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic WoW. These items, inspired by the 2025 Zodiac Sign of the Wood Snake, are available to players who purchase or are already on a bulk subscription and will be delivered by January 31, 2025.
Since 2018, World of Warcraft has been rewarding players with exclusive in-game items for subscribing for six or more months at a time. These rewards often align with the lunar Zodiac signs, such as the Auspicious Arborwyrm for 2024, the Year of the Wood Dragon. The latest offering for 2025 includes the Timbered Sky Snake, a flying mount for retail WoW, and the Timbered Air Snakelet, a matching pet for Cataclysm Classic. These can be obtained by purchasing a six-month subscription, or individually from the in-game store for $25 and $10, respectively. The Timbered Sky Snakelet for modern WoW is also available for $10 from the Battle.net shop, but isn't part of the subscription offer.
January 2025 Six-Month WoW Subscription Offer
- Timbered Sky Snake skyriding mount for World of Warcraft: The War Within
- Timbered Air Snakelet, a small version of the mount, as a pet for Cataclysm Classic
Players already on a recurring subscription will also receive these rewards. Both items will be added to qualifying Battle.net accounts no later than January 31, 2025, and must be redeemed before January 31, 2026, when they will likely be replaced by items themed around the lunar Year of the Fire Horse.
For those opting for a 12-month subscription, additional rewards include the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, along with the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic WoW. Subscribers will also automatically receive July’s six-month subscription offer, making it an excellent deal for collectors.
Looking ahead, World of Warcraft's 2025 roadmap includes two major patches starting with 11.1 for retail WoW, with potential player housing by year's end. For Classic, progression servers will advance to Mists of Pandaria, anniversary realms will progress through vanilla and into The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery will enter its final phase. With such exciting developments across all versions of World of Warcraft, securing a bulk subscription now could be a wise move for avid players.
