Recent leaks suggest exciting additions to Zenless Zone Zero, including new skins for popular characters Astra Yao and Ellen Joe. The upcoming 1.5 update, launching January 22nd, promises a wealth of new content, including two new playable characters and much more.

While Astra Yao's in-game debut was highly anticipated following her reveal at The Game Awards 2024, leaks indicate she may receive a new skin surprisingly early. Images from the 1.5 beta, shared by prominent leaker Donutleaker and corroborated by Palito, showcase Astra in an all-white, puff-sleeved dress, a stark contrast to her usual attire. This raises questions about the timing, given her recent introduction as a playable S-Rank unit alongside her bodyguard, Evelyn (also S-Rank). The 1.5 update's main storyline is expected to center around Astra Yao's arrival.

These leaks also point towards a new skin for Ellen Joe, another day-one character. The absence of an Agent Story for Ellen, unlike other launch characters, has fueled fan demand for more content, particularly regarding her connection to the shark Thiren. The 1.5 update may finally address this, potentially including her Agent Story.

While the skins for both Astra Yao and Ellen Joe are strongly hinted at, their availability in Version 1.5 remains uncertain. They may instead serve as teases for future updates. However, the 1.5 update still offers much to anticipate, with a confirmed skin for Nicole Demara, an A-Rank unit, possibly obtainable through a free, limited-time event.
