Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with frequent character updates evolve with the meta. Initially, Grace was a top-tier Agent due to her exceptional Anomaly building capabilities. However, with the introduction of more Anomaly units, her relevance has diminished, especially with the rise of the powerful Anomaly unit Miyabi. This updated Zenless Zone Zero tier list reflects the current meta and character rankings.
S-Tier
S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are the cream of the crop, excelling in their roles and synergizing seamlessly with other units.
Miyabi
Miyabi is a standout in ZZZ, known for her swift Frost attacks and massive damage output. Mastering her playstyle can turn her into a battlefield dominator, capable of obliterating foes with precision.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe outshines Piper with her superior Crit capabilities on Assault Anomaly, delivering devastating damage. Despite the slower pace of Anomaly-based attacks, her powerful Assault potential secures her a spot in the S-Rank, alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Yanagi
Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder, activating this effect without needing to apply Shock on top of another Anomaly. Her ability to trigger Disorder on enemies already affected by an Anomaly makes her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, known for her swift and effective Shotshells. She pairs well with Stun and Support characters, with her best synergy seen with Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1. Qingyi helps stun enemies quickly, while Nicole boosts her Ether damage and reduces enemy DEF.
Caesar
Caesar redefines the Defense Agent role with her exceptional protection, buffs, and debuffs. Her ability to scale with Impact allows for easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control capabilities further cement her position as a top support in ZZZ.
Qingyi
Qingyi is a versatile Stunner, fitting seamlessly into any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze build-up through Basic Attack spam, along with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a valuable asset, though she doesn't outshine Lycaon in Ellen's team.
Lighter
Lighter's Stun capabilities and significant buffs to Fire and Ice characters place him high on the ZZZ tier list, especially given the strength of units with these attributes.
Lycaon
Lycaon's Ice-based Stun combat style, coupled with his ability to reduce enemies' Ice resistance and increase allies' Daze DMG, makes him indispensable for Ice teams in Zenless Zone Zero.
Ellen
Ellen, an Attack Agent with a focus on Ice damage, shines in Zenless Zone Zero due to her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku. Her powerful hits, especially after Lycaon's stuns and Soukaku's buffs, place her at the pinnacle of the ZZZ tier list.
Harumasa
Harumasa, a free S-Rank Electric-Attack Agent, requires specific conditioning to unleash his powerful attacks, making him a valuable addition to any team.
Soukaku
Soukaku serves as an excellent Support in Zenless Zone Zero, buffing allies and contributing to Ice Anomaly build-up. Her synergy with other Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon makes her a top-tier buffer.
Rina
As a Support, Rina not only deals significant damage but also provides PEN to her allies, enhancing their ability to bypass enemy defenses. Her focus on Shock Anomaly and buffing Shock reactions makes her a crucial ally for Electric characters.
A-Tier
A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in specific combos and are generally strong in their roles.
Nicole
Nicole is a valuable Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields and shredding their DEF while boosting the team's Ether DMG. Her utility is niche but highly effective for Ether DPS units.
Seth
Seth excels as a shielder and support, though he doesn't reach the heights of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche lies in supporting Anomaly DPS, where ATK buffs remain beneficial.
Lucy
Lucy's off-field damage and team-wide ATK% buff make her a strong Support unit. Her synergy with other characters to activate her Additional Ability further boosts her DPS potential.
Piper
Piper's gameplay revolves around her EX Special Attack, which is one of the best in Zenless Zone Zero. Her ability to trigger Assault and build Physical Anomaly works well with other Anomaly units to consistently cause Disorder.
Grace
Grace's ability to quickly Shock enemies and trigger continuous damage is strong, but the influx of new Anomaly Agents has pushed her down the tier list. Her relevance remains, especially in teams focused on Anomaly.
Koleda
Koleda's reliable Fire/Stun capabilities make her a versatile addition to any team, particularly those with other Fire characters. Her synergy with Ben adds new movesets to her arsenal.
Anby
Anby's comedic timing during story quests adds to her appeal, but she's also a reliable Stun unit in combat. Her quick and effective combos are notable, though she's easily interrupted compared to other Stun Agents.
Soldier 11
Soldier 11 is straightforward to play, dealing significant damage with her Fire-infused attacks. Her simplicity is both her strength and limitation, as other characters offer more complex and rewarding mechanics.
B-Tier
B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero have value but are often outclassed by other units in their roles.
Ben
Ben, the sole defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, offers fun gameplay with his parry and punish mechanics. However, his slow combat and limited team benefits, aside from a Crit Rate buff, make him less appealing compared to mastering dodging.
Nekomata
Nekomata, an Attack unit, deals significant AoE damage but relies heavily on her team for optimal performance. Her effectiveness is hindered by a lack of suitable teammates in the current meta, but future updates may enhance her standing.
C-Tier
C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to no significant contribution to team compositions.
Corin
Corin, an Attack character dealing Physical damage, excels at extended slash damage to Stunned enemies. However, she is outclassed by Nekomata's AoE capabilities and Piper's Anomaly application.
Billy
Billy's loud and frequent attacks do not translate into significant damage output. While he works well in quick-swap teams, many other DPS characters outperform him in dealing damage.
Anton
Anton's continuous Shock damage is interesting, but his lack of DPS and single-target focus limit his effectiveness in combat, making him less desirable in team compositions.
