miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Makes Strong PS5 Debut, Cracking Top 12 Most Played Games
miHoYo, the studio behind the hugely popular Genshin Impact, continues its PlayStation success with Zenless Zone Zero. This new action RPG has swiftly gained traction, securing a place amongst the platform's most played games.
ZZZ's PS5 Chart Performance
Zenless Zone Zero, a free-to-play live-service title, has joined the ranks of PlayStation heavyweights like Elden Ring and Minecraft. Circana's "US Player Engagement Tracker Top 10 Titles" report, released recently, placed ZZZ in the top 10 based on weekly user engagement (note: playtime wasn't a ranking factor).
Launched on July 4th, ZZZ quickly climbed the charts, reaching #12 in the PS5's top 40 most-played games within its first week. Early mobile performance was also impressive, generating nearly $52 million in gross player spending ($36.4 million net) in its first 11 days, peaking at $7.4 million on July 5th (App Store and Google Play combined), according to PocketGamer.biz.
While not yet matching the overall success of miHoYo's other titles, ZZZ's performance is remarkable, placing it alongside industry titans like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Roblox. The game boasts a 4.5/5 star rating on the Epic Games Store, with players praising its compelling boss battles and narrative.
Our review awarded ZZZ a 76/100, highlighting its stunning visuals and animations. [Link to review]
