Squares: The Daily Word Strand Puzzle – Master the Game!

Squares is a daily word puzzle where players strategically connect letters on a grid to form words and score points. The objective is to discover all the words and maximize your score.

Gameplay:

Connect adjacent letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to create words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each letter tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.

Scoring & Bonus Words:

Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points). The game also features bonus words – obscure, archaic, or slang terms – that don't contribute to your score but appear in a separate list. You can continue searching for bonus words even after finding all the main words. A special "Word of the Day," often a longer word, is hidden in each puzzle; finding it rewards you with two extra hints.

Game Features:

• Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available every day at midnight.
• Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right to gain a fresh perspective and potentially uncover hidden words.
• Hints: After finding 40% of the main words, a hint system activates, displaying a number on each letter indicating how many words begin with that letter (a zero indicates no words start with that letter). Letters turning orange signify they've been used in the main words but might still appear in bonus words. Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon) revealing the first letter and search direction of a random word. Sharing the game link provides an additional hint!
