Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar Games, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just surprised fans with a much-awaited Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a significant refresh exclusively for mobile gamers, leaving console and PC players waiting in the wings.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

The Bully: Anniversary Edition update brings a host of improvements tailored to enhance your gaming experience. Rockstar has added support for new languages and focused heavily on stability enhancements and bug fixes. One notable change is the temporary disablement of Friends Challenges, allowing the developers to fine-tune this feature for future reintroduction.

For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual depth and realism. Alongside this, the app icon has been refreshed, and haptic feedback has been added to both iOS and Android platforms, making interactions more immersive.

Several missions that were previously plagued with issues have now been fixed. For instance, the mission 'That Bitch' no longer makes Mandy’s locker impossible to pick, and 'Weed Killer' progresses correctly even if you break the window prematurely. In 'The Rumble,' police cars no longer fall through the floor, resolving a bizarre glitch. Additionally, the update addresses a peculiar issue where enemies would refuse to attack Jimmy, ensuring combat feels balanced and engaging. The update also tackles crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

While the gaming community has been vocal about their desire for Bully 2, Rockstar's focus seems to be elsewhere. There were whispers of a sequel in development during the 2010s, but it was ultimately shelved in favor of other major projects like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, hopes for Bully 2 are dimming, especially with many original team members having moved on from Rockstar.

The new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition, while not a full remaster or a sequel, is a welcome upgrade for mobile players. If you're new to the Bully universe, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old rebel navigating the challenges of life at Bullworth Academy, complete with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world mischief.

Interested in diving into this classic? You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, with the added bonus of full gamepad support.
