Top Garchomp Ex Decks for Pokemon TCG Pocket Revealed

Garchomp, a legendary Dragon-type in the *Pokemon* universe, has been elevated to the Ex status with the launch of the Triumphant Light expansion set in *Pokemon TCG Pocket*. Here's a detailed look at the top Garchomp Ex decks you can build in this game.

Best Garchomp Ex Decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket

It's crucial to understand that Cynthica doesn't synergize with Garchomp Ex, as she's designed to enhance the base form. Garchomp Ex excels at bypassing defensive walls like Druddigon and other high HP Pokemon, directly threatening your opponent's bench. However, as a Stage 2 Pokemon, accelerating its evolution before an opponent can overwhelm you with, for example, an Exeggutor Ex, presents a strategic challenge.

The Linear Attack of Garchomp Ex, which deals 50 damage to either an active or benched Pokemon, is its main attraction. This is more cost-effective than its 100 damage Dragon Claw, which requires 3 Energy. Fortunately, the Triumphant Light versions of Gible and Gabite can deal significant damage with just one energy, making them viable frontline attackers.

Here are three decks that effectively incorporate Garchomp Ex in *Pokemon TCG Pocket*:

Hitmonchan (Fighting Energy)

  • Gible x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Gabite x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Garchomp Ex x2
  • Hitmonchan x2
  • Marshadow x1
  • Professor’s Research x2
  • Cyrus x2
  • Sabrina x1
  • Poke Ball x2
  • Pokemon Communication x2
  • X Speed x2

The strategy with this deck involves using Hitmonchan to apply pressure while you evolve your Garchomp Ex line behind the scenes. Farfetch’d can substitute for Hitmonchan based on your opponent's deck, though Hitmonchan has the advantage against Arceus Ex. If your opponent retreats after Hitmonchan inflicts damage, you can use Cyrus to pull their Pokemon back into the fray for a Dragon Claw or Linear Attack. Marshadow is there to clean up any fallen Pokemon.

Aerodactyl EX (Fighting Energy)

  • Gible x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Gabite x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Garchomp Ex x2
  • Amber Fossil x2
  • Aerodactyl Ex x2
  • Marshadow x1
  • Professor’s Research x2
  • Cyrus x2
  • Poke Ball x2
  • Pokemon Communication x1
  • X Speed x2

This deck focuses on the evolution path from Gible to Gabite to Garchomp Ex. Aerodactyl Ex is a valuable addition as Poke Balls can't fetch the Amber Fossil needed for its evolution. With only one Marshadow, you're likely to start with Gible. Garchomp Ex's low energy requirement makes it flexible, while Aerodactyl Ex serves as a late-game finisher or a strategic switch-in. The deck's one retreat cost across all cards makes X Speeds essential for maneuvering. Be cautious of your opponent's Cyrus plays, as your own Cyrus plays can be crucial for victory.

Lucario EX (Fighting Energy)

  • Gible x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Gabite x2 (Triumphant Light)
  • Garchomp Ex x2
  • Riolu x2
  • Lucario x2
  • Hitmonchan x1
  • Professor’s Research x2
  • Cyrus x2
  • Poke Ball x2
  • Pokemon Communication x1
  • X Speed x2

This is the most powerful but riskiest Garchomp Ex deck, requiring both Lucario and Garchomp Ex to be active before your opponent can rush you. Lucario boosts Gible, Gabite, and Hitmonchan by +20 damage, making them formidable attackers. Garchomp Ex's Linear Attack, enhanced by Lucario, deals 70 damage with a single Fighting Energy to the opponent's active Pokemon. With both Lucarios in play, your entire lineup becomes significantly more damaging. Sometimes, it might be strategic to delay evolving Gabite into Garchomp Ex to avoid giving up easy knockouts.

These are the premier Garchomp Ex decks to try in *Pokemon TCG Pocket*. As the meta evolves, expect to see continued experimentation with this iconic Dragon and Ground-type Pokemon.
