Nightdive Studios has officially rebranded the game as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, breathing new life into a cult classic. This revitalized edition is set to launch on PC (available on Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, as well as Nintendo Switch, ensuring that fans across multiple platforms can dive back into this iconic sci-fi RPG.
The long-awaited release date for the remaster will be unveiled on March 20, 2025, during the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase. This announcement marks a significant moment, setting the stage for a new generation of players to experience the legendary game that debuted in 1999.

System Shock 2 was a genre-defining masterpiece, blending survival horror with deep RPG mechanics. Its remastered counterpart promises to preserve the eerie atmosphere that fans cherish while enhancing the experience with modern visuals and technical upgrades. Nightdive Studios, renowned for revitalizing the System Shock franchise, had originally planned to release this project alongside the System Shock remake. However, development delays led to a reshuffling of their schedule.
The 2023 remake of the original System Shock was met with strong reception, scoring a 78/100 on Metacritic, a 7.6/10 from users, and an impressive 91% positive rating on Steam.
