ADW Launcher 2: More Than Just a Customizable Android Home Screen

You might think the original and best launcher ever made hasn't been updated. Many assume time is a strict line from cause to effect, but *actually*, from a non-linear, non-subjective perspective, it's more like we released this update three years ago and you just didn't notice. Don't worry, we get it—not everyone has…1.21 gigawatts!! to spare.

That said, we've read a lot about Google's recommendations regarding app options and settings, and we've debated them extensively. But since the ability to speak doesn't make one intelligent, we've done the exact opposite. After all, without the freedom to choose, there can be no real creativity. A Launcher without options is a boring one.

You might also think, "I find your abundance of settings overwhelming," and we don't blame you! It's a perfectly normal reaction. Maybe you're not ready for it yet. But your kids are going to love it. Ultimately, the odds of configuring it exactly to your liking are roughly 3,720 to 1, which proves it's the best launcher—because math never lies.

And yes, we have screens. Icons? Absolutely. Oh, and widgets too. What else? Well, you can even create your own. If you'd rather have everything ready-made, just use themes! Or widget and template packs! Is your device's home screen dull? Change it again, Sam. Your style, your rules. Do. Or do not. There's a setting for it. Tweak it, change it, shaken, not stirred.

And remember: "There's no such thing as 'the unknown,' only options inside ADW Settings."

Most of the app has been reprogrammed and redesigned from the ground up, with tons of new features added. Here are some highlights:

* Support for Android 7.1 launcher shortcuts (with limited support on older versions down to Android 5.x).

* New icon effects section. Choose from image filters and compositions. Awesome!!!

* Dynamic UI coloring that adapts to your wallpaper.

* New screen management: press and hold an empty area on the desktop.

* New method for adding widgets and shortcuts.

* New way to change wallpaper, lock/unlock the desktop, or access settings: press and hold an empty area and select an option.

* Added fast scroll style for the app drawer.

* Added indexed fast scroll style for the app drawer.

* Added new desktop transition animations.

* Added a new section to configure icon badges.

* Added a visual configuration mode for desktop, icon appearance, folder appearance, and app drawer settings.

* Option to change the top panel/widget.

* Option to change the content type of the bottom panel (dock/widget).

* New wrap folder mode: tap to launch the first app in the folder, swipe up to reveal the folder's contents.

* New fast application search within the app drawer.

* Improved app categories in the app drawer.

* Enhanced management of user gestures.

* Improved process for applying internal and external themes.

* Enhanced context menu for all desktop objects.

* New Custom Widget object. Add custom widgets from the list, import them from friends and developers, or create, edit, and share your own.

* Added initial extensions for custom widgets (time, battery).

* Added a template manager. Easily remove, add, and share templates.

* Improved icon properties dialog.

* Improved folder properties dialog.

* Added a backup manager in Advanced Settings/System. You can now import data from other popular launchers (if we missed one, let us know!).

* Added the ability to set a secondary action for desktop shortcuts. Swipe up on a shortcut to trigger it.
