F.H. Disillusion: The Library

The iron gates of the Forgotten Hill Museum creak open on their own, as if exhaling a breath long held. Dust swirls in the pale light filtering through cracked stained glass. The air hums—not with sound, but with memory. Echoes of laughter, whispers, a single note from a broken music box… all layered beneath silence.

You stand at the threshold.

Before you stretches The Library—a cathedral of forgotten knowledge. Bookshelves spiral upward into darkness, their spines cracked, their titles shifting when you blink. Some books writhe slightly, as though alive. Others float an inch above the floor, pages fluttering in a wind that doesn’t exist.

A single wooden chair sits at the center, facing a long desk. Upon it lies a bottle of wine—uncorked, yet full. A note, written in looping cursive, rests beneath it:

"The truth is not in the wine, but in the pour.
And the pour… is never what it seems."

A figure stirs in the shadows. A man in a threadbare coat, pale fingers clutching a pocket watch with no hands. He looks up. His eyes are wide, unblinking.

“Ah,” he says, voice like dry leaves brushing stone. “You’ve arrived. Or were you always here?”

His name is Mr. Larson. He doesn’t remember how he got here. But he knows one thing:

"The Library lies. The books lie. Even the walls lie…
But only one truth remains: if you believe the lie,
you become part of it."

You step forward.

The floorboards groan.

Somewhere, a door opens.

And the wine in the bottle… begins to boil.

🔍 What do you do?

1. Approach Mr. Larson. Ask him what he knows. Why is he trapped here? Is he real?
2. Examine the bottle. The wine is boiling—but it’s still full. How is that possible? Is there a clue in the liquid?
3. Search the shelves. One book stands out—its title is Your Name, in your handwriting. But you don’t recognize the script.
4. Turn and run. The library is wrong. It’s not a place. It’s a trap. Maybe the exit is behind you.

But perhaps… you should trust your gut.
