Geo Tracker - GPS tracker

Record your journey's GPS tracks, analyze your stats, and share them with friends!

Looking for a top-notch GPS tracker that works with OpenStreetMap or Google Maps? Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and travelers—this app is for you!

Track your trips with GPS, dive into detailed statistics, and easily share your adventures with friends!

Geo Tracker helps you by:

• Finding your way back in unfamiliar places without getting lost;

• Sharing your custom routes with friends;

• Using routes from GPX, KML, or KMZ files;

• Marking important or interesting spots along your way;

• Locating any point on the map using its coordinates;

• Showing off vibrant screenshots of your achievements on social media.

View your tracks and the surrounding area using OSM or Google map schemes, plus satellite imagery from Google or Mapbox—ensuring you always have detailed maps worldwide. Maps you view are cached on your device for offline access (best with OSM and Mapbox satellite). Recording tracks and calculating stats only requires GPS; the internet is just for downloading map imagery.

While on the move, enable navigation mode to have the map auto-rotate in your direction, making travel much easier.

The app records tracks in the background (on many devices, this needs extra system setup—please check the in-app instructions). Background power use is highly optimized, typically allowing a full day of recording. An economy mode is also available in settings.

Geo Tracker calculates detailed stats including:

• Distance traveled and recording duration;

• Maximum and average speed;

• Time and average speed while moving;

• Minimum and maximum altitude, plus elevation gain/loss;

• Vertical distance, ascent rate, and speed;

• Minimum, maximum, and average slope.

Detailed charts for speed and elevation data are also provided.

Save your tracks as GPX, KML, or KMZ files for use in other apps like Google Earth or OziExplorer. All tracks stay locally on your device—no data is sent to servers.

The app is ad-free and doesn’t monetize your data. You can support the project through optional in-app donations.

Useful tips for common smartphone GPS issues:

• After starting tracking, wait a moment for the GPS signal to lock.

• Restart your phone and ensure a clear view of the sky (avoid tall buildings, dense trees, etc.).

• GPS reception varies due to weather, season, satellite positions, poor coverage areas, obstacles, and more.

• In your phone settings, go to "Location" and turn it on.

• In "Date & time" settings, enable "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone"—wrong time zones can delay GPS lock.

• Disable airplane mode in your phone settings.

If issues persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Note: Google Maps uses not only GPS but also Wi‑Fi and mobile network data for location accuracy.
