"Nintendo Switch 2 Image Reveals C Button on Joy-Con"

Author : Isaac Update:May 13,2025

Nintendo has officially confirmed that the mysterious new button on the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con is indeed the C button, as previously speculated. This revelation came through the newly released Nintendo Today! app, which showcases the button clearly marked with a "C" in its promotional images on the App Store and Google Play.

The C button was first unveiled alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, though initially without any lettering. Subsequent rumors suggested it was the "C" button, and those rumors have now been substantiated.

Some believe it might enable wireless casting of the Switch 2 to a TV or facilitate screen sharing. Others speculate it could toggle the Joy-Con into a mouse mode or enhance group and voice chat functionalities.

Nintendo has scheduled a Switch 2 Direct for April 2, where we hope to learn more about this intriguing new feature. Here's a summary of what we currently know about the Nintendo Switch 2:

  • The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch in 2025, likely not before June based on the hands-on event schedule.
  • The console is larger than its predecessor, with bigger Joy-Con controllers that appear to be usable as a mouse.
  • It features two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom, unlike the original Switch which had only one.
  • The Nintendo Switch 2 is backward compatible, capable of playing both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games as well as Switch 2 exclusive titles. However, some Nintendo Switch games may not be fully compatible.
  • A new Mario Kart game is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The app serves as a daily calendar and news source, providing players with continuous updates.
