How to Begin the Hermit Quest

The Hermit quest automatically unlocks upon completion of certain tasks for Radovan in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After successfully locating the missing cart, return to Radovan. He'll then reveal his desire to forge a wedding gift – a sword – initiating the Hermit questline. Before interacting with the hermit, however, you must gather information from the villagers of Troskowitz.

Gathering Information on the Hermit

Begin by visiting the Troskowitz tavern and engaging in thorough conversation with Innkeeper Betty. Next, speak with other villagers; the alehouse maid and general trader are good starting points.

Interacting with Gerda and Stanislav

Speak with Gerda in Troskowitz, who witnessed a relevant event. You can either pay her a small sum or attempt a dialogue check to obtain the necessary information. Afterwards, travel to Apollonia and converse with Stanislav. Again, either pay him or succeed in a dialogue check.

Acquiring Evidence

With the information gathered, locate the cross mentioned by Gerda. You'll need a spade (purchaseable from the Troskowitz trader or found in cemeteries) to excavate the grave. Inside, you'll find Groschen and documents related to the Knights of the Cross. Examine these documents. Then, proceed to the quest marker in Apollonia, where you'll discover a hut and a black horse. Examine the horse for further clues.
