Squad Busters is significantly altering its gameplay by eliminating the Win Streak system. This means the days of relentlessly climbing the win ladder for extra rewards are over. However, this change is accompanied by several other updates.
Why the Change and When?
The decision to remove Win Streaks stems from player feedback. Instead of fostering a sense of accomplishment, the system was causing undue pressure and frustration. The feature will be removed on December 16th. Your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a record of your achievement.
To compensate for this removal, players who reached certain win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes. Unfortunately, coins spent on boosting win streaks will not be refunded. The developers cite game balance concerns between free-to-play and paying players as the reason.
Player reaction to this change is mixed. While some welcome a less pay-to-win environment, others are less enthusiastic about the removal and the relatively modest compensation.
