Alan Wake 2 Surpasses 2 Million Sales, Breaks Even

Alan Wake 2 surpasses 2 million global sales, exceeding initial projections. This surpasses the 1.3 million units sold between October 2023 and March 2024, a period in which Remedy Entertainment celebrated the title as its fastest-selling game.

Remedy's recent financial report to shareholders highlights this achievement, noting that the sales milestone—bolstered by the launch of the Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition—has enabled the game to begin generating royalties after recouping development and marketing expenses.

The studio also provided updates on future projects. Control 2, a collaborative effort with Annapurna Interactive, is nearing completion of its production readiness phase and will commence full production in late February 2025. Similarly, the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is progressing steadily in full production.

Remedy's multiplayer Control spin-off, FBC: Firebreak, remains in full production following a successful closed technical test in December. This test involved external players evaluating matchmaking and backend services. While a release date is yet to be announced, Remedy will self-publish FBC: Firebreak later in 2025.

IGN's Alan Wake 2 review awarded the game a 9/10 rating, praising it as a superb survival horror sequel that significantly surpasses its predecessor.
