Studio Wildcard has released an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, outlining nearly two years of exciting updates for this remastered version of the popular survival crafting game, ARK: Survival Evolved. Initially launched in early access in November 2023, ARK: Survival Ascended has been receiving regular content updates to keep the player base engaged and excited.
On January 11, Studio Wildcard, based in Redmond, Washington, shared a detailed roadmap that will guide the game's development through late 2026. The first major update on this roadmap is not a content drop but a significant technical patch. This update will transition ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5, promising substantial performance enhancements. Additionally, this upgrade will see the reintroduction of support for Nvidia's frame generation, which had been removed earlier in 2024 due to engine-related issues.
ARK: Survival Ascended Content Roadmap for 2025–2026
This UE5 update will also continue Studio Wildcard's effort to restructure the game's data, enabling players to download ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs individually. This selective approach will help manage the game's install size more effectively. Following the engine update, new content will roll out starting in April 2025, including a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature.
In June 2025, players can look forward to a new premium map, which will be available as paid DLC. More details about this map are expected to be revealed in early spring. Further updates in August 2025 will introduce another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature.
Looking ahead to 2026, Studio Wildcard plans to remaster ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis expansions. Genesis: Part 1 will be released in April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August. These releases will coincide with parts of Bob's True Tales, a new content drop announced as part of the game's season pass. The year will conclude with a remastered version of the Fjordur map in December 2026, available as a free update. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames will be introduced throughout 2026.
While the roadmap provides a broad overview of what's coming to ARK: Survival Ascended, Studio Wildcard may have additional surprises in store for players over the next two years.
