Bloodborne, a critically lauded RPG released in 2015, remains a fan favorite. Many players yearn to revisit Yharnam, its gothic city, on modern gaming platforms. Although no official announcement has been made, recent posts on FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia's Instagram accounts featuring Bloodborne have sent excitement soaring.

On August 24th, FromSoftware shared three images showcasing the game's title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One image highlighted Djura, a memorable hunter encountered in Old Yharnam. The others depicted the player character exploring Yharnam's heart and the eerie Charnel Lane graveyards.

While these posts might simply be a nostalgic look back, dedicated Bloodborne players on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) have meticulously examined every detail, searching for clues hinting at a long-awaited remaster. Many feel teased by the posts, especially given a similar post from PlayStation Italia on August 17th.

PlayStation Italia's post (translated) asked fans to choose their favorite iconic Bloodborne location, sparking further discussion and hopes for a return to Yharnam on new platforms. Many comments humorously suggested that the "most iconic" location would be on PC or modern consoles.

The Hunt for Bloodborne on Modern Consoles Continues

Released exclusively for PS4 in 2015, Bloodborne has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase, praised as one of gaming's greats. Despite its success, a sequel or remaster remains elusive.

Fans point to the 2020 Demon's Souls remake (originally from 2009) as a potential precedent for a Bloodborne revival. However, concerns remain about the potential wait. Given Demon's Souls' over-a-decade-long journey to a remake, fans fear Bloodborne might face a similar lengthy process. With the game's tenth anniversary approaching, the desire for a remaster is stronger than ever.

In a February interview with Eurogamer, Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted at the advantages of remastering the game for modern hardware, acknowledging improved accessibility for a wider audience.

While Miyazaki's comments offer a ray of hope, the final decision rests not with FromSoftware. Unlike Elden Ring (which FromSoftware fully publishes), Bloodborne's rights are held by Sony. Miyazaki has stated in other interviews that he's unable to comment specifically on Bloodborne's future due to this.

Bloodborne's passionate community eagerly awaits a remake. Despite critical acclaim and strong sales, Sony has yet to expand the game's reach beyond the PS4. Only time will tell if the current speculation leads to a confirmed Bloodborne remaster.
