Author : Noah Update:Dec 30,2024

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two classic game modes and a beloved map this week, just days after its launch. The recent update addressed various player-reported issues.

Infection and Nuketown Arrive This Week

Treyarch, the developer, announced via Twitter (X) the arrival of the popular "Infected" mode and the iconic Nuketown map. Infected, a party mode where players battle zombie-like opponents, launches tomorrow. Nuketown, a map inspired by 1950s nuclear test sites, will debut on November 1st. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions. Black Ops 6, released October 25th, initially included 11 standard multiplayer modes, along with variations and a Hardcore mode.

Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Post-Launch Bugs

The first post-launch update tackled several issues across multiplayer and Zombies modes. Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight received XP and weapon XP rate increases. Activision stated they are actively monitoring XP rates across all modes. The update addressed the following:

Global Fixes:

  • Loadouts: Fixed highlighting of the last-selected loadout.
  • Operators: Resolved an animation issue with Bailey.
  • Settings: The "Mute Licensed Music" setting now functions correctly.

Map Fixes:

  • Babylon, Lowtown, Red Card: Closed exploits allowing players to exit the intended play areas. Red Card also received stability improvements.
  • General: Addressed stability issues related to in-game interactions.

Multiplayer Fixes:

  • Matchmaking: Fixed an issue sometimes preventing quick replacement of players who left matches.
  • Private Matches: Private matches will no longer forfeit if a team has zero players.
  • Scorestreaks: Resolved an issue causing continuous Dreadnought missile sound effects.

Developers Treyarch and Raven Software are working on further fixes, including addressing the issue of dying on loadout selection in Search & Destroy. Despite these post-launch issues, Black Ops 6 is considered one of the better recent Call of Duty titles, particularly praising its Campaign mode. [Link to Game8 review]
