Crunchyroll Adds Shin Chan Game to Android Vault

Crunchyroll Game Vault just unlocked Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town for Android users. This charming slice-of-life adventure first arrived on Nintendo Switch in Japan back in February 2024, followed by a worldwide Switch and PC release last October. Now mobile gamers can finally experience this quirky anime journey.

Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town - A Nostalgic Rural Mystery

The story begins with the Nohara family moving to a sleepy village in Akita Prefecture when Hiroshi lands a job near his hometown. Settling into an old-fashioned Japanese farmhouse, they embrace the slow rhythms of country living.

Young Shinnosuke (our mischievous Shin Chan) discovers rural charms alongside his grandfather Ginnosuke. Players get to experience authentic countryside activities - casting fishing lines in Akita's clear streams, bug-catching in the woods, and learning farming secrets from grandma.

The plot thickens when the family dog Shiro reappears mysteriously covered in black soot before bolting away. In true Shin Chan fashion, our pint-sized hero gives chase and stumbles upon a train that definitely wasn't there yesterday. One unintended train ride later, Shin Chan finds himself transported to the mysterious Coal Town.

Coal Town feels like a time capsule from Japan's Showa era frozen in time. The once-thriving mining town maintains its nostalgic retro atmosphere, creating stark contrast with the peaceful countryside we left behind.

Here players encounter lively townsfolk and discover new interactive elements including parks, retro diners, and local shops. The town becomes Shin Chan's playground with plenty to explore - some locations offer gameplay interactions while others provide charming background details.

Young inventor Yuri recruits Shin Chan to help collect materials for her experiments aimed at improving residents' lives. But trouble arrives in the form of her older brother Chuck, whose extreme "waste-free" initiatives ironically make life miserable for everyone. It's up to players to assist Yuri in stopping Chuck and restoring harmony to Coal Town.
