The Blood of Dawnwalker delivers a true vampire RPG narrative sandbox experience. Discover the remarkable freedom the game offers players and details about its upcoming gameplay reveal livestream.
The Blood of Dawnwalker Provides Maximum Narrative Control to Players
A Single Major Goal With Multiple Solutions
The Blood of Dawnwalker presents players with one core objective to achieve, but offers numerous paths to attain it. Taking on the role of the protagonist, Coen, you will experience the game as a human by day and a vampire by night, adding depth and broadening the storyline.
The game’s release window was confirmed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, accompanied by a new trailer. Following this announcement, Rebel Wolves' Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz shared key game insights in an Xbox Wire post on June 9. He emphasized their focus on player agency and how the game dynamically adapts to player choices and actions.

Tomaszkiewicz explained that while the main objective is to save Coen's family, players decide how to accomplish this. After the prologue, the world opens up both in exploration and narrative opportunities. He stated, "There is a clear goal ahead of you, but countless ways to get there."
The game is designed to be highly non-linear—Tomaszkiewicz even mentioned that players might completely bypass entire storylines. He elaborated, "You can side with the human rebellion, or complete the game without ever encountering them." Players even have the freedom to confront the primary antagonist, Brencis, whenever they wish, using whatever strategy they prefer.

The developers have frequently touted the extensive freedom The Blood of Dawnwalker provides. Previous reports noted that its dynamic world reacts to player actions—or inaction—and permits players to eliminate key NPCs, resulting in alternate story outcomes.
This ambition is a challenging one, but Rebel Wolves affirmed they are aiming for The Witcher 3's level of quality. This confidence stems from the team's background, which includes former CD Projekt Red developers who contributed to The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Tomaszkiewicz remarked, "We call this open, player-driven approach the narrative sandbox. It is the central philosophy of our storytelling."
Gameplay Reveal Event
Given the developer's extensive discussions, fans are eager to witness Dawnwalker's gameplay. Rebel Wolves announced on Twitter (X) on June 9 a Gameplay Reveal Event scheduled for June 21 at 12 PM PDT / 3 PM EDT / 9 PM CEST / 4 AM JST on their official Twitch channel.
Refer to the timetable below to determine the stream time in your local timezone:

According to the announcement, the livestream will run for approximately 45 minutes, featuring 15 minutes of gameplay along with a presentation of game features. It will also include developer insights into the magic, traversal, and combat systems, alongside an epic soundtrack and additional content.
Interestingly, publisher Bandai Namco noted on its website on June 8 that the livestream coincides with the summer solstice—"the day the northern hemisphere experiences its longest daylight, while the southern hemisphere endures its longest night." This alignment underscores the game's emphasis on the contrasting dynamics between day and night, particularly how they affect Coen's abilities.

The developers are eager to unveil the first chapter of their original dark fantasy saga. Tomaszkiewicz shared, "It has been a pleasure to finally share more of the game with you, and I want to thank our community for their incredible support. Back in January, when we first unveiled the game, we promised to reveal more gameplay this summer—that moment is finally here."
The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled to launch sometime in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates on the game, check out our article below!
