Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent-developed title marks a significant foray into the modern military shooter market. The game blends diverse missions and game modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite special forces unit, the series has always prioritized realistic weaponry and gadgets.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the franchise. The game features a Warfare mode offering large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, and an Operations mode that delves into the extraction shooter genre. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also slated for release in 2025.

Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's anti-cheat measures, while ambitious, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach. Restrictions imposed on certain software and hardware for the PC version have been met with negative feedback.
While mobile platforms generally present fewer cheating challenges, the PC controversy might still impact Delta Force's mobile reception. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free experience on mobile could yet fulfill player expectations.
