Devil May Cry Anime Officially Getting Season 2 at Netflix

Author : Zoe Update:Apr 20,2025

Exciting news for fans of the *Devil May Cry* anime: Netflix has officially announced that the series is set to return for a second season. The announcement was made on X/Twitter, accompanied by an image and the tantalizing tease, "Let's dance. Devil May Cry is officially coming back for Season 2."

Although specifics about the upcoming season remain under wraps, fans can revisit the first season in its entirety on Netflix to understand why it's earned a continuation. The announcement tweet from Netflix reads:

In our review of *Devil May Cry Season 1*, we noted that while the series has its flaws—including poor CG, humor that misses the mark, and characters that can feel predictable—Adi Shankar and Studio Mir have successfully created a fun video game adaptation. It's a wild, bold homage to and critique of '00s Americana. Despite its shortcomings, the show boasts some of the year's best animation and ends with an epic finale that sets the stage for an even more thrilling second season.

The news of a second season isn't entirely unexpected, as series creator Adi Shankar had previously expressed his vision for a "multi-season arc." For more insights, don't miss our conversation with Shankar at IGN Fan Fest 2025, where he discussed how the anime aims to bring the best of the *Devil May Cry* series to Netflix.
